Kimi Antonelli led the 2026 Miami Grand Prix from pole to flag, but the win was closer than the result suggests. Lando Norris chased him throughout and finished 3.264 seconds back, with the gap rarely settling for long.

Norris had the pace to apply pressure and set the fastest lap, a 1:31.869 on lap 35, yet never found the clear run he needed to attack into the first chicane. Oscar Piastri made it two McLarens on the podium in third, ahead of George Russell and Max Verstappen.

Tyre management shaped the closing laps. Antonelli protected his lead by controlling the pace rather than chasing lap times, and the McLarens could not force the error they needed. The lap traces below show the leading trio running in close company through the middle of the race.
Gabriel Bortoleto produced the standout recovery, gaining nine places, while Valtteri Bottas turned the quickest stop of the day at 17.10 seconds. Four cars retired, among them both Racing Bulls.
The win was Antonelli’s third of an early-season run that would carry him to the top of the standings. Sector times, the speed-trap chart and tyre strategy are all on the Miami race page.
